stephany-balmer-webStephanie is happy to have returned to Duluth, her hometown, where she lives with her husband and two children. She graduated from The Marshall School in 1998 to attend the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she graduated in 2001. She then attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul where she received her juris doctorate in 2005. She spends her free time reading, enjoying local music, playing and coaching soccer, skiing, curling, and being with her family.

Stephanie has served as President of the 11th District New Lawyers section and coordinates the legal services for the yearly Homeless Connect event in Duluth. She has also been recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 by Minnesota Law & Politics, an honor given to 2.5% of Minnesota attorneys under 40 years old or in practice for 10 years or less. Stephanie is a member of the 11th District Bar Association Board and the United Way Board of Directors.

Women's Herstory Sponsor

Volunteer Attorney of the Year for 2011

Jim Balmer was named Volunteer Attorney of the Year for 2011, following Bill Thompson's and Sean Quinn's receipt of the same award for 2009 and 2010, respectively. Falsani, Balmer, Peterson, Quinn & Beyer was also named Volunteer Law Firm of the year for 2011. These awards are issued by the Northeastern Minnesota Volunteer Attorney Program as a result of the free legal work provided to those in need in the community.
