Since 2002, Bill Thompson has practiced primarily in the area of family law. He has represented both men and women concerning issues of child support, child custody, divorce, adoption, children in need of protective services, orders for protection, harassment/restraining orders, and other family law related matters. In addition to the normal district court proceedings, Bill has taken numerous cases to the Court of Appeals.

Bill also has expanded his practice to include the area of criminal law. This practice includes representing individuals who have been charged with DUIs, assaults, and criminal sexual conduct matters.

Bill has been an active member of various pro bono groups, striving to increase the access of poor to the legal system. As a result of his hard work in representing indigent individuals, Bill was given the honor of Volunteer Lawyer of the Year. Bill’s efforts were also an important factor in the law firm being awarded the distinction of being the Volunteer Law Firm of the Year for 2007.

Bill is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
